Internet challenges have been all the rage for several years. Some of them are family friendly and safe for kids to be involved in. Many of them are incredibly dangerous and stupid, so it’s a good idea to have some common sense before trying some.
Below we’ve collated a list of 50 of the most popular challenges. These are not based on safety or common sense, they are just the most popular, but there is a good combination of foolish and fun.
Are you under house arrest—I mean self-isolating at home due to the pandemic—where you live? Perhaps now would be a good time to try some of these to pass some time.
1. Not my hands challenge
The challenge here it to get a friend to use their hands while pretending they are yours. As you can see in the video this could be a lot of fun.
2. 100 layers challenge
It doesn’t matter what it is, but you need to build up 100 layers of something. This originally started with a YouTuber applying 100 layers of nail polish.
3. Yoga challenge
We all know there are some crazy and complicated yoga positions. The object of this challenge is to try to replicate them.

4. The accent challenge
You can do this one by yourself if you want. But everything is more fun with friends. Simply choose a variety of accents and then repeat a sentence in each accent.
5. The 7 second challenge
You don’t need to spend anything for this one, and you don’t need anything special to do it. Just choose a task for a friend to complete in 7 seconds.
6. The brain freeze challenge
First you need to pour as much ice or simple ice-cold water into a tub and then have a friend get in. Then you start asking questions, and they can’t get out until they answer correctly.
7. Try not to laugh challenge
Gather a collection of the funniest videos you can find. Perhaps some foolish internet challenge videos. Then try not to laugh while watching. You laugh, you lose.
8. Water bottle flip challenge
First, you choose a water bottle of whatever size you want. The object of the challenge is to throw the bottle and have it land back in its normal position.
9. Cinnamon challenge
Not a smart thing to do, especially if you have health problems such as asthma. But the challenge is for a person to eat a full spoon of cinnamon.
10. The chubby bunny challenge
Like marshmallows? This one if for you. The object of the challenge is to cram your mouth full of them—or some other sweets—and then try to say “chubby bunny.”
11. Ghost pepper challenge
First, the ghost pepper is said to be one of the hottest peppers in the world. The challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to eat a whole ghost pepper.
12. Eat it or wear it challenge
This could get messy. Stick several bits of paper with random food items in a hat or bag. When you pull one out, you need to choose if you would rather eat it or wear it. The winner is the one wearing fewer foods.
13. Smoothie challenge
This is potentially nauseating. Write down 10 foods that you like and 10 that you think are disgusting. Mix them up and put them in a bag or container. Then pick 2 at random and mix them together as a smoothie.
14. Cotton ball challenge
First you need to put a bowl of cotton bowls, an empty bowl, and a spoon. One person holds the bowl of cotton balls and the other person puts the empty bowl on their head and tries to spoon cotton balls into it while blindfolded.
15. Internet slang challenge
Are you up to date on your internet slang? The questions are taken from the urban dictionary, and internet slang dictionary. The person that knows the most wins.
16. Blindfolded makeup challenge
Do this with your partner, your sibling, or your BFF. Just someone whose hands you don’t mind all over your face. Then cover their eyes and let them do your makeup. What could go wrong?
17. Boyfriend does makeup challenge
Well, the last one was so hysterical, they’ve tightened the rules. Now you need to get your boyfriend to do your makeup for you.
18. Speed drawing challenge
Get a group of friends together and one to be the judge. The judge provides a word and the group draws it in a set time limit. The best drawing wins.
19. Whipped cream challenge
This is more fun when done with your spouse or partner. Every time an answer is given incorrectly—where did we first meet?—you get to slather whip cream on their face.
20. The whisper challenge
Get a group together and have one person wearing earphones and listening to music. Then someone else whispers something to them, and they have to guess what was being said.
21. Blindfolded drawing challenge
Since some of us can’t draw even with our sight, this could be fun. A friend tells you what you need to draw, blindfolds you, and lets your creation begin.
22. Touch my body challenge
Probably best played with couples—or friends with no inhibitions. You touch a part of the other person’s body and guess what it is.
23. Pizza challenge
How much do you trust your friends? You need to let someone choose 10 mystery ingredients and then top a pizza with them and eat it.
24. Bean boozled challenge
If you love Jelly Bellies, this is the game for you. You have to eat them without looking at the flavor and guess what they are.
25. Nintendo Switch challenge
You don’t need to limit yourself to Nintendo. If you have an Xbox or PS4, that’s fine. All you need to do is play a game with someone. The winner of the game wins the challenge.
26. Fantastic gymnastic
This is based on the board game of the same name. And you need to land the gymnast on their feet, much like the flip bottle challenge, where the bottle needed to land right.
27. Not my legs challenge
This is way more challenging than the not my arms game. In this game, you need to have someone pretending to have your legs.
28. Baby food challenge
Stewed peas. Yum. In this challenge you need to eat a variety of baby foods and guess what they are. Too bad all baby food isn’t fruit.
29. Roast yourself challenge
You need to have some sort of social media following for this one. Then you need to read the hate comments people have left for you—how nice—and then roast yourself.
30. Chapstick challenge
You want to play this with your partner—or someone you’re eying to become a partner. Basically, you need to kiss someone and guess what flavor their Chapstick is.
31. The condom challenge
This is pretty simple, but best to do outside or in a bathtub. Simply fill an unused condom with as much water as it will hold without bursting but be sure not to tie it up when done. Them drop it on someone’s head.
32. Beans and chopstick challenge
Fill one bowl with beans. The object of the challenge is to transfer the beans into an empty bowl with a single chopstick.
33. Big meal challenge
Sounds simple but may prove to be difficult for some and it will cost you money. Go to a restaurant and order the biggest meal they have and then finish it all.
34. 10,000 calorie challenge
Make sure you’re hungry before starting this, although it might not help. You need to consume 10,000 calories in a single day. If you are an intense athlete, your body may burn this off, but the average person only needs about 2,000 calories a day.
35. Blindfold food tasting
Only do this with friends or family you know you can trust. They give you food and you have it identify it without being able to see it. Prepare to have some horrible tasting stuff given to you.
36. Cheez-its challenge
Make it the hot, spicy kind and ramp up the challenge. You and your friends each have their own box and whoever finishes eating first wins.
37. Cling wrap challenge
Play fair and don’t do anything dangerous. You need to trap a friend in cling wrap and they need to escape. Don’t smother them!
38. Cold water challenge
Brrr! Do this when you are hot and sweaty. You need to jump into a cold body of water and dunk your head. It can be your bathtub, a lake, a river, whatever.
39. Cook a meal challenge
This should be fairly straight forward, but results vary. Gather a group a people and each of you cook the same recipe. Then taste them to see how different they come out.
40. Dizzy challenge
Be careful where you do this so you don’t get hurt. Spin around in a circle until you are dizzy and then try to finish a task you have been given.
41. 24-hour challenge
Is there anything you would like to do for 24 hours? Pick one specific thing and then do it. Eat, watch TV, cut the lawn with scissors, whatever. Just do it for 24 hours straight.
42. Go to the worst rated place challenge
Ask around or read reviews. Just find out what the worst rated place in your city or town. It could be a restaurant, spa, hair salon, theater, whatever. Then go try them out.
43. Disney challenge
This could be a trip down memory lane for some. The object of the challenge is to play a Disney song for someone, and they need to guess which movie it was from.
44. Say something challenge
Have a good memory? Try this one out. Get a group of people—minimum two—and have everyone say a single word when it’s their turn. Then you need to remember all the words that were said.
45. Innuendo bingo challenge
Prepare to get wet. One person fills their mouth with water. Then you listen to TV or radio clips where innuendo is used and try not to laugh—spewing water on the other person.
46. What’s in the box challenge
It’s a guessing game. One person puts something in a box without the other seeing. Then the other puts their hands through holes in the box to touch it and guess what it is.
47. Cake challenge
This could be fun to do with kids. You need to bake a cake from a variety of odd ingredients and see if you can make it work out.
48. What is in my mouth challenge
Pretty much the same as the blindfold food tasting challenge. Someone needs to feed you something and you need to guess what it is.
49. The floor is lava challenge
If there was lava or acid on the floor, would you walk casually over it or try to avoid it? So the challenge is to get across the room without touching the ground and killing yourself.
50. 100 t-shirts challenge
Much the same as the 100 layers challenge. But this time you specifically need to put on 100 t-shirts. It’s not as easy as it sounds!
