While Batman is busy looking after Gotham City, Corporal C.B. Fleming is focused on caring for the community of South Hill, Virginia.

A caring officer, the man focuses on building a connection with different families in the communities he serves in, and he does so by making the children laugh.

Fleming has always been jovial and enjoyed interacting with kids, but before, he did so quietly. Now, everyone knows his name.

This hero has earned some well-deserved recognition.

On Valentine’s day, Iesha Roper Boswell, noticed a police officer, playing with her kids outside. He had laid down on the pavement and was coloring with the boys.

After a while, he sat down next to the girls, and played dolls with them as well.

Iesha did the only thing she knew to do- record.

Just a few days later, her video went viral, and was covered with an interview by CBS News 6, and posted on their YouTube channel.

When asked about Fleming, Iesha mentioned,

“He just gets a swarm of kids, its just amazing the bond that he has with the children especially around here.”

Iesha is spot on with the comment on the “swarm of kids.”

In every clip, it looks as though the neighborhood children are all crowded around the man, eager to hear one of his jokes or to laugh at his singing. He’s always asking the kids to spell a word, or what their favorite Disney character is, (He says his favorite character is Moana, and we approve!) and just never stops his positive energy.

At the end of the day, Fleming is good at communicating that he really cares about the people he is protecting.

“My daughter and my niece, and some of the other children here, we’re afraid of cops. It’s very important to see the connection he has with this group of kids that I see every day. They need someone who they can feel is a superhero and we locally call him the South Hills Batman”

Why Does This Man Go the Extra Mile?

At one point, Officer Fleming looks at his car with a grin on his face, and announces “start” and his car starts right up as though he commanded it to.

The children eat up the act- but why does Officer Fleming spend his extra time hanging out with kids?

When asked about it, Fleming explained it this way:

“For me to be a catalyst to young people, regardless of race, color, creed, religion, I feel like I can be a positive change. I want everyone, not just the kids… but the moms and dad… to know that they can come to me.”

And that’s just what they do. One clip shows a little girl telling him that she will call 9-1-1 if she has any problems. It’s at this moment you realize that this isn’t all just a publicity stunt. This guy is real, and he actually cares. All the more reason for him to go viral, because this story needs to be shared!

So, while you may be worried and stressed today, just take a second to remember- Officer Fleming is changing the world, one cartwheel at a time.
