With roots coming from Africa, Cuba, Spain, and Argentina culture, the tango is a partner dance that came to life in the 18880s between Argentina and Uruguay.

The tango is a type of dance that has many different styles, and this development was due to the tango molding with different cultures.

That’s a dance that touches, influences, moves, and awakens people who see it performed.

The video below was filmed on the streets of Barcelona in 2015. “La Cumparsita” translates to “The Little Parade” and it’s a crowd favorite. For those who don’t know, “La Cumparsita” is actually an incredibly recognizable tune as it’s the most famous tango of all time. You’ll probably know it once you hear it.

It was written in 1916 by the Uruguayan musician Gerardo Matos Rodríguez.

One interesting fact is that the song was named the cultural and popular anthem of Uruguay by law in 1997.

The video begins with a dancing couple and a huge crowd around them.

Although they’re surrounded by a huge crowd, they still dance as if there were no one around. The dancers are Mora Godoy and Marcos Ayala. With their technically perfect and very sensual routine, the duo will leave you breathless! A lot of people dream of being able to dance like that, but it seems super easy when this pair does it.

Their excellent coordination and pure beauty of the dance are so great that the whole crowd watched in awe!

You don’t have to be Argentinian, Uruguayan, or Spaniard to feel pure enthusiasm over the passion radiating all around them.

As it turns out, Mora and Marcos are both prestigious tango dancers.

Mora Godoy is a dancer, choreographer, director, and producer from Argentina.

She’s often described as a symbol of Argentinian tango. The successful dancer has been multi-awarded in Argentina and abroad, and more than 49,700 people follow her on Instagram.

At the same time, Marcos Ayala aims to offer a constant reinvention of the genre to keep the tango current through the generations.

He is also from Argentina, and his most prominent work is the “Tango Buenos Aires” musical. It’s described to be a great option if you want to know more about the evolution of tango in Buenos Aires.

In all, this video is a splendid way to introduce yourself to one of the world’s most influential dances.

A lot of us know some common facts about tango, but are we really familiar with the gist of the dance?
