The video starts off pretty regularly, Jona is already having a good time and his smile and moves are contagious! (The song is pretty fantastic as well, it’s Fun Won by OmoAkin featuring Reekado Banks.)

Before long, after showing off just a quick teaser of his dancing, Jona disappears behind a pillar and pops out again on the other side to deliver some more slick tricks and get the viewer bouncing again!

He disappears behind the pillar again, and then when he pops out for the second time

there’s suddenly two of him!

There is of course two dancers who dressed the same for this little trick but it has a fantastic effect for the video! It helps that they look kind of similar but pretty quickly you can see the difference.

How did I not notice when he suddenly grew facial hair!?

The dancers then do this really cool routine in sync and bop to the music that makes you want to jump out of your chair and start dancing right along with them!

The whole thing is an absolute blast to watch.

Music is so contagious, and so is fun so when you get both in a combo it’s pretty hard to turn down! I mean, why not just get up and go for it? What else are you doing right now in quarantine anyway, right?

Of course, music and dancing quite literally are contagious!

Dr. Shahram Heshmat writes about it at Psychology Today, and how it creates contagious emotions!

“Emotional contagion refers to the phenomenon that perceiving an emotion can sometimes induce the same emotion. As an example, people display automatic frowning when observing facial expressions of fear and sadness. A full music experience involves watching as well as listening. Visual aspects of performance greatly influence our experiences of music.”

Dr. Heshmat also helps us understand why we want to dance (read: synchronize our movements) to music, and what kind of effect that has on our biology!

“Rhythm can have a powerful effect on movement, because the auditory system has a rich connection to motor systems in the brain. These connections help explain why music often makes us want to dance, and why we feel a natural inclination to tap along with music. Sounds that are loud, sudden, and fast-paced generate increases in arousal. In contrast, relaxing music can reduce feelings of anxiety.”

I really hope we see more creativity like this from him soon, he has some real talent and a certain charm that is really intoxicating! It’s been really fun to watch the video over and over again and listen to the song to get the sleepy house mates bouncing!
