When doggy day care closes, FedEx driver brings dogs with him on deliveries
These dogs are so cute and brightening up the neighborhood!

Do you have a regular delivery driver that you know and like? Maybe you have a good rapport and chat a bit when you see each other. That’s really nice, of course, but imagine for a second that your delivery guy was accompanied by two dogs. Yeah.

That’s exactly what Daniel Nava’s days in quarantine are looking like.

He’s a delivery driver for FedEx and has been bringing his two little dachshunds with him to work!

This way they aren’t left home alone for too long during the quarantine!

With the doggy daycares closed due to COVID-19, Daniel wasn’t sure what else he could do with his dogs except bring them along to work!

“My supervisor didn’t mind as long as we were all safe on the road. He was very understanding, especially under the current circumstances.” -Daniel Nava

That’s a good boss for you! Understanding that people will have different requirements during this pandemic and being able to work with them is key!

Chorizo and Cocoa had gone with Daniel once before, during his Christmas deliveries of 2019, so he knew it wouldn’t be an issue.

According to Nava, both dog and customer alike love it!

“The funniest story was during their Christmas Eve delivery, a lady saw them and drove a few blocks behind me just to take their picture. When she caught up with us they were looking everywhere but the camera, until she looked at them and said ‘please let me take your picture, it can be my Christmas present.’ It’s almost like they actually understood what she said to them because they finally looked at the camera at the same time and let her take a picture!”

I mean those are some seriously cute dogs, they’re incredibly photogenic!

Chorizo is a little older than Cocoa, and they actually aren’t related they just get along extremely well as adopted brothers!

They’re both still very young, with Chorizo being about two and a half years old while Cocoa is just shy of the two year mark.

Still, as a safety precaution, the pups wear leashes in the truck that are long enough to give them some wiggle room and comfort while still being short enough that they are safe in the truck, even if they see something that catches their attention.

But they seem so well trained that might not even be an issue!

Lucky for us, Chorizo and Cocoa have an instagram dedicated to them and their cuteness, so we have pictures of the dogs when they’re not even a full year old yet!

It looks like Chorizo was practically born for his role as a FedEx dog…

He was on the road even when he was a baby!

Their little FedEx uniforms are so funny as well, they’re almost official members of the team!

Like most things involving animals, the internet has gone absolutely nuts for these little guys.

It helps that their parents are pretty funny themselves!

We’ve got our own favourite pictures of these two, and then some!

They have plenty of adorable outfits and are so patient with their poses!

They even wear sunglasses like pros and look super professional because of them!

Dachshunds are just too funny and are apparently super willing to get dressed up and fawned over!

Dachshund owners are almost always super loyal to their pets and know that they require a little extra love and care, and Nava is no different.

“We always wanted to adopt or rescue a Dachshund, but at the time we couldn’t find any in our area, then one day we found a puppy for sale and decided to just go ahead and get it. And we named him Chorizo. Coco came to us from a litter of one of my mother-in-law‘s friends, even though they are not direct siblings they love each other very much.”

And now both dogs are well on their way to becoming iconic! They couldn’t have asked for a better adoptive family and now they’re being given even more purpose as service dogs as well!

They’re both super cute and super helpful!

With quarantine (hopefully) coming to an end, the doggy daycares are reopening, which is a good thing! But it means Chorizo and Cocoa’s adventures on the road are probably coming to a close for now!

“When they are not at daycare, they will probably be wearing FedEx shirts and sunglasses.” -Daniel Nava

Keep an eye on your FedEx trucks, you never know when a fuzzy friend might be staring back at you!
