They say that a dog is a man’s best friend, but so as a pet rooster, don’t you think? What do you think will happen when these two meet together? Let’s find out how Rocky, a German Shepherd puppy, meets a rooster for the first time.

Imagine being a dog and seeing the rooster for the very first time.

How would you react? What would you do? Let’s see how Rocky greeted the rooster which is being carried by his pet owner as they entered the living room.

As soon as they sat down, Rocky followed them and sniffed the rooster

Rocky greeted the rooster with some sniffs and checked if the rooster’s real or not. Seems that Rocky’s initial instinct made the rooster shy and uncomfortable when this went on for a while.

Confirmed, it is real!

Yep, it definitely is alive and kicking. The rooster made a noise when Rocky came over near its beak. Rocky then sat still with a distance from the rooster contemplating if he’s a fellow animal and friend or a dinner treat!

Rocky thought the rooster’s as strong as him!

Rocky’s pet owner encourages him and the rooster to be friends by asking his paw and do a handshake. But, instead of letting his paw shake his pet owner’s hand, he dodged it towards the rooster’s body!

If only the rooster can speak, he would probably say, “Bok, it hurts! Take it easy bok! bok!”

No, Rocky, it’s bad.

The pet owner said “no”, telling Rocky that he should not dodge his paw to the rooster and be more gentle. He obediently followed and got tamed while looking after the rooster as if it’s his younger sibling.

“Good boy!” the pet owner said with a matching pat on his head. Good job, Rocky!

The rooster is your new friend.

“Take it easy. He’s your friend.”

The pet owner constantly reminds Rocky that the rooster is his friend. However, it seems that Rocky is not convinced as his mind’s telling him that it smells like chicken nuggets or fried chicken. Yum!

Let the staring game begin!

As Rocky the German Shepherd puppy curiously observes the rooster held by the pet owner, there went a couple of seconds where they just sat and stare at each other. Their pet owner has now a grin on his face, thinking that both of his pets are now slowly breaking the ice between them. Mission accomplished!

Look at those puppy dog eyes!

His pet owner asked for his paw and it took a while for him to respond. Maybe because of what happened earlier when he dodged the rooster. Then there he goes, showing his puppy dog eyes as if he is pleading to let this rooster be his dinner for tonight!

“Yes, Rocky, he’s your friend,” the pet owner repeatedly advised Rocky and he looked up at the ceiling like he’s asking for some guidance from above.

“You’re a good boy.”

While patting Rocky’s head, the pet owner always compliments Rocky that he’s a good boy, so he should be good to his friend, the rooster, too. He’s very smart and behaved too! Or not? Haha!

Rocky became too comfortable having the rooster around, and he invited the rooster to play tag! What a way to end the video!

Hey, Rocky!
