Material things may stay for a long time, but eventually, they grow older and get worn out. Time flies so fast and before we know it, everything is not as new and useful as they used to be.
The next 75 slides show how things change over time, and some of these changes are really cool. Years go by and we don’t notice how much things change, but by looking at these compilation, you’ll see how things actually and drastically transform!
This man is a delivery truck driver. Being exposed to the sun for 23 years did this to his skin. Can you guess which part faces the sun the most?
2. A thick history of posters
We did not always rely on TV ads back then. Print ads posted around lamp posts are also means of advertisement. This pole has definitely a thick history of these ads and notices.
3. A worn out bear versus a bear kept in storage
These bears belong to the same guy. One was left for him to play with as a child, while the other was kept in storage to be used by his first kid. The difference is quite huge!
4. Silver in the pocket since 1952
This silver coin has been in the pocket of a man since 1952. It’s almost completely worn out!
5. This worn out wooden floor in a temple
The monks pray in the same place on this Tibetan temple for years. This is the result of their constant kneeling in this spot.

New York used to have really dark buildings due to the coal power plants built in the northeast. After major power washing, the city has come to life once again.

It is obvious that the middle seat is the last favorite seat in this three-seater bench. It looks totally new while the edge seats look overly used.
The wind kept blowing the plants back and forth against the fence. Their movements created patterns that showed the fence’s fresh brown hue.
You may not notice but gradually, a penny deteriorates and changes in color. This depicts perfectly how a penny evolves as time passes by.

Dog vaccination tags such as this one are made of metal and are expected to last for a lifetime. Unfortunately, the doggo who owned this tag passed after 13 years but still, this memento he has left behind will remind his family about how he once lived with them.
14. What the sun does to floor boards
The rug on the middle of this floor was finally removed after 16 years. Apparently, the damage created by the sun on the exposed part can now be seen after seeing how it used to look like.
People are always standing up on these spots in front of the the bank tellers. The marble floor has changed in shape in said area because of the constant weight it carries from people.

This diamond steel plate has gone all smooth, thanks to all the people shuffling over it to get to their favorite rides.Only the part where people always walk on has become smoother from all the shoes walking on it.

This worn out carpet is from the 70’s and is located near the kitchen. Now, there’s a path that’s visibly more worn out than the rest of it and this probably is the fastest way to get to the food!
The ustain pedal in this old piano definitely underwent a lot of pressure. It eventually got a hole on it from all the performances!

The fellow who owns this car has pressed the radio button too many times over the years that it had ended up wearing out. The resulting pattern looks like a Victorian portrait!

This table was made for playing dominoes. It has been played on multiple times over time and has changed because of constant shuffling and sliding of dominoes and hands.
27. 12 years of dogs doing this
If you have a dog, you might be familiar with how they open the door. They paw on it until finally opens! This is what happens to the door constantly pawed on for about 12 years.
28. After 55 years of wearing the same ring
Finally, this old man decided to cut his wedding ring after wearing it for 55 years and not being able to remove it because of the size. This is the mark that was left in the man’s finger.

Constant rubbing on top of this wall made the lower part of this branch smoother. It was sanded down because of the constant friction with the rough wall.

At first glance, you might think that the subway car floor in this photo has always been this smooth. But, if you look closely and near the pole, you’ll realize that it was actually a patterned floor!

The shackle on this swing is definitely worn out. It shows that many kids really love to be on the swing. As col as this may sound, this is now a safety issue as well. Let’s just hope they changed the shackle when they saw this.
Kids in this school always pushes the door and it hits the wall constantly. The impact of this action done daily made one side of the knob look like this.
34. 50 years of having cats
Having cats will make a person used to scratches, especially on doors and walls. The owner of this house has had cats for about 50 yeara, and this is how the front door looks like.

Things are always sliding and people’s hands are always shuffling over this counter table. Years of doing that resulted to this visible pattern.
The metal grate covering this wooden bridge used to be whole. But after all the foot traffic and the weight it carried over the years, some of the parts in the middle are now gone.
After dismantling this office, visible marks of where people are walking on were left on the carpeted floor. These are marks made by both chairs and human feet.
No mouse pads were provided in this school but tables are conducive for mouse activity. Over the years, the table for the desktop computers have changed because of the mouse paths made by the students.
This doorknob has been held too many times that its exterior eventually faded. But, what showed underneath was an even more beautiful shine!

This mouse has become discolored due to overuse. What was once blue is now white!
This Bible has been passed within the family from one generation to another. It has been moved from place to place and it still lives on. The worn out pages only show how much this family values their beliefs and how they really read this old Bible.
The faded paint on the railing would only mean how people really need help when going to the higher floor. But, going down and giving in to gravity is easier. The left railing looks practically new!
Time is not something we can control and whether we like it or not, the things we have will eventually wear, tear and fade in the background. Although, things are not meant to stay forever, if we care for them and appreciate them better, we can make use of them for longer.
