As rewarding as parenting is, it’s not always butterflies and rainbows. There’s plenty of tears and boo-boos along the way that parents have to handle. But parents are coming up with uplifting ways to diffuse all of those toddler tantrums.

An incredible mom named Shelbee Haderer from McCloud, Oklahoma found the perfect way to calm her two-year-old Brilee down.

To be honest, we could all learn from this valuable teaching moment. Brilee is like most two-year-olds, just trying to figure it out, play with some toys and enjoy the day. But, when you’re two, you learn pretty quickly that things don’t always go your way.

Those emotions are hard to process for toddlers and that’s why it’s important for parents to help them find calm during the difficult times.

Two-year-old Brilee and her mom Shelbee show us that with lots of love and patience those tears can disappear. In this heartwarming video, you’ll hear Shelbee work her mom magic and it’s easily the sweetest thing we’ve ever seen. The video starts right after Brilee accidentally slammed her hand into the door.

Her eyes were filled with tears as she tried to explain to mom what happened.

Brilee’s mom reminded her to take a deep breath and continue to breathe it out. It’s common for most of us to hold our breath when something painful happens which doesn’t help us feel better.

Brilee took some deep breaths and immediately started to relax but was still in a lot of pain.

That’s when her super mom told her to look at her and repeat these phrases to her.

“Say I’m okay”

Brilee repeated back.

“I’m okay”

Then her mom told her to repeat after her,

“Say I’m strong… I’m beautiful… I’m loved… I’m worthy”

Brilee repeated back to her all of those precious affirmations and quickly started smiling again.
