A Neighbor in Need
Our neighbors can be interesting folk. They can vary and differ in background, culture, and even faith. There’s always some level of interest that comes along with meeting them in the appropriate setting as it lets you know who you’ll be nestling with going forward. As a result, it’s always best to establish your relationships early to make the rest of your stay as pleasurable as possible.
One such case that proved why it’s important to build that trust with your neighbor was when a child was in need of assurance and protection after she felt vulnerable. The compelling story of 6-year-old Alethia is a one that might seem familiar to those parents who’ve had to take a minute to step out of their home.
One afternoon, Alethia’s brother, who was babysitting, was not in sight when Alethia woke up from her nap. Alarmed, Alethia decided to walk over to her neighbor Sarah’s home where she wanted to find safety in her company. She very calmly walked over and luckily, a doorbell device saved the day.

With the touch of your fingertip, you can pretty much use the Ring to make a phone call and communicate with the person who is in close proximity to it.
That’s exactly what Sarah did. When Alethia arrived, she immediately began comforting the distressed child. She evidently knew the situation was dire, and so tried her best to console Alethia and reassured her everything was going to be okay.
Alethia was visibly shaken as she was not okay with the situation
She clearly was not having it. Her worrisome face could not hide the stress she was feeling from being all alone. It was a good thing we have your friendly neighborhood neighbor Sarah to save the day!
“I’m just all by myself at my house.” Said the frightened girl.
Sarah behaved liked a 5-star role model as she confidently and calmly made Alethia feel like something was being done to take care of the matter.
Sara began to text her mom to inform her of the situation.
This is a case of parents not doing enough to keep their kid on a watchful eye. According to a study, there are more than two hundred thousand children that get kidnapped on average per year In the United States. This could’ve easily turned into a morbid story if the wrong people would’ve shown up by Alethia’s home.
“I’m gonna call someone to come get ya. Just stay right there on the porch, okay sweetheart?” Said the worried neighbor who was really trying with all her might to be helpful.
Thankfully, all was remedied as Alethia’s parents were notified and was reunited with her brother who returned after a bit. Make sure to keep an eye on your child and don’t let them experience this unnecessary empty feeling of loneliness that Alethia had to go through.
